With 54 comfort pitches, 4 comfortXL pitches, 36 comfort pitches with private bathroom, 13 car-free tent pitches and 4 campervan pitches, you are sure to find your favourite spot!
Don't like camping in a caravan or tent? Then take a look at our hiker’s cabin, 2-person studios (dogs are allowed), 2 person studios de luxe or 4- and 6-person luxury rental chalets.
They are equipped with all necessary facilities and allow you to enjoy the camping feeling as soon as you arrive.

Camping de Berken is the ideal base for real lovers of hiking and cycling. Because we are located at the heart of the 'Drouwenerzand' nature area, you can find a great variety of landscapes and beautiful panoramas in the immediate environment. There are many special places to visit like a number of forestry centres, the nationally renowned landscape of waterways and maple forests, the Drenthsche Aa, and many prehistoric burial mounds.
There is also more than enough for children to do in the area. The attraction park 'het Drouwenerzand' is just 700 m away! The park has all sorts of great attractions and is a real experience for both the very youngest and older children. In addition there is a natural lake 3 km from the campsite, and there are two open-air swimming pools and a subtropical swimming paradise 5 km away!
Extensive facilities
At Camping de Berken you will want for nothing. If you are camping on a comfort pitch you can make use throughout your stay of water, drains, electricity and a TV connection. There are also comfort camping places with their own sanitary cabin. This means that you will never have to stand in line for the toilet or shower!
Our campsite has a variety of excellent facilities. For example there is a friendly campsite shop where you can pick up fresh bread and a newspaper in the morning. You don't feel like cooking? Then take a seat on the attractive terrace of Brasserie Flair. The chef will take great pleasure in preparing the tastiest meals for you. Because they mostly work with regional products, you can experience the real taste of Drenthe here.
Of course a family campsite is not complete without extensive play facilities. Naturally you will also find these at Camping de Berken. There is a variety of play areas spread out over the entire campsite. So you will be able to keep an eye on your children from your own camping place. If the weather is not so nice, your children can carry on playing in the indoor play area.
In the high season there are a variety of activities organised for young and old. One of the nicest places on our campsite is the small children's farm. Amongst other things there are rabbits and goats living there.
And at Camping de Berken you can make use of free Wi-Fi so that you can share all your wonderful holiday moments with your friends.
